In April 2007, I embarked on a road trip to fulfill my dream of playing the groupie (in a very loose sense) to my favorite musician. My goal...attend five Five For Fighting concerts in seven days, following John Ondrasik on the western leg of his spring tour. Beach Bash For Augie's Quest Road Trip 2008
Augie's Quest is a Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) charity dedicated to raising awareness and funds in the fight against ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig's disease. The charity was founded by Augie Nieto, who was afflicted with ALS, and John Ondrasik is a big supporter of Augie and his quest. In March 2008, I embarked on a road trip that would ultimately take me to the Beach Bash for Augie's Quest fund raiser in San Diego. Things didn't start out as planned...the Seattle concert was canceled...but everything worked out in the end.
